Personal information

Sergiy Duvanov was born in 1964.

From 1985 to 1988 he studied in the Moscow Institute of Physics and Engineering, and got the speciality - experimental nuclear physics. From 1993 to 1996 he was a post-graduate student at the Institute of Applied Physics NAS of Ukraine, Sumy, Ukraine.

He defended his PhD thesis "Resonance elastic scatteringof protons and its application for the thin-film analysis  " in 1997, speciality 01-04.16 — physics of nucleus and elementary particles. Scientific supervisors are Prof. V.Yu. Storizhko, academician of NAS of Ukraine and Dr. A. P. Kobzev, JINR, Russian Federation.

From 1988 to 1989 Duvanov worked in the laboratory of the marine radiospectroscopy,Pacific Oceanological Institute, Vladivostok, Russian Federation.

In 1989 he was a trainee of the department of nuclear physical methods,  Institute of Applied Physics, Sumy, Ukraine.

From 1991 to 1992 he worked as an engineer, Institute of Applied Physics, Sumy, Ukraine.

Since 1996 he has been working as a senior researcher, Institute of Applied Physics, NAS of Ukraine, Sumy, Ukraine.

On December 22, 2021, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine announced a competition to replace the director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. According to the Statute of the NAS of Ukraine, the right to nominate candidates for the position of director of a scientific institution has: the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, the Bureau of the relevant branch of the NAS of Ukraine, members of the NAS of Ukraine, the Academic Council of the institution. A candidate for the position of director of a state scientific institution must be fluent in the state language, have a doctorate or doctor of philosophy and work experience as a researcher and (or) research and teaching staff of at least 10 years.
